Eggs Make Us Happy, Especially Around Spring Time

So, we're loving this egg cooker from Touch of Modern. And the price is pretty nice too. I personally hate having to boil eggs, so I usually just don't do it even though there are so many recipes you can use them in.

The Egg Cooker is for hard boiling, soft boiling and poaching eggs. It has a stainless steel lid/heating plate. A buzzer indicates the end of cooking time.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Is the title of this post too cutesy? Sorry about that.

Anyway, just stumbled upon the "National Home Gardening Club" Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/GardenClub/info

This photo (Piano fountain - built and designed by Bill Metzgar) caught our eye:

The club has over 400,000 members. "Members receive Gardening How-To magazine, test and keep products, and receive members-only deals and discounts." http://gardeningclub.com/

Can't wait to be out working in the garden again, but for now at least we can read about gardening.

Wish List Item: Home didn't come with a fireplace? No problem!

We're loving the easy availability of electric fireplaces these days. If your house didn't come with a fireplace, it's pretty much as easy to get one as choosing, ordering and placing it in your home (although some seem to have more assembly involved than others, and the ones that need to be wall mounted probably require some degree of skill with tools to get it up there safely).

You can pretty much find an electric fireplace from $99 and up. The fancier and larger they get, the more expensive. The examples below are over $500 but still under $700.

Here are some of our favorite examples of how they can be worked in with the rest of a room's decor:

We love the color behind this wall-mounted fireplace (Napoleon 39").

Perfect showerhead for a rustic bathroom

...Also could be perfect for the shower of an antique lover. Or for a bathroom with a garden theme.

Saw this on The Cozy Old Farmhouse on Blogger (have the feeling they must be kindred spirits) and thought it was a great idea to share:

Teddy Bears

What's more cuddly than a teddy bear?
Not too much. That's why we wanted to feature some special teddy bears in this post.

According to the Guinness World Records,
the world's largest stitched Teddy Bear is:

55 ft 4 in in length and was constructed by Dana Warren
The bear was completed on 6 June 2008 and displayed at the Exploration Place, Wichita, Kansas,
The bear was named C.T. Dreams, which stands for Connect The Dreams.

Unfortunately, we couldn't find any photos of the bear. If you have one or no of any links, please let us know. Thanks!

Also according to Guinness,
the smallest commercially available stitched teddy bear:
Measures 9 mm (0.29 in) and was made by Cheryl Moss of South Africa.

As for the World's Cutest Teddy Bear? Well, that depends on who you ask. And, just based on this screen shot of Google images for Teddy Bears, there's a lot of competition out there. But feel free to submit your favorite Teddy Bear in our comments section.

Levitating lights

You know that we here at Soft and Cozy are fascinated by all kinds of gorgeous lighting and these "levitating lamps" from A TouchO'Modern are no exception.

Given their price, however, we're going to consider these wish list items as opposed to items for creating a comfy home on a budget.
